CHMOW thanks a supporter

Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to Zelman Fairorth for his recognition and positive feedback about our program.

Mr. Fairorth highlighted much of our program’s service and the contents of our meals. We deliver five days a week, 52 weeks a year, two fresh meals and beverages (a cold lunch and a hot supper) prepared by the chefs at Keystone House and delivered by volunteers.

We have also provided “breakfast bags” and “emergency blizzard bags” filled with non-perishable essential items that have been collected, prepared and donated by area school children, faculty and friends. CHMOW is extremely grateful for the generosity shown by our school communities, local faith based organizations, community associations, individuals and businesses.

With community support, CHMOW offers an avenue of relief not only for seniors and homebound neighbors we serve but also, like Mr. Fairorth, those responsible for their care. By providing nutrition and a daily visit from caring volunteers, CHMOW enables its clients to retain a level of independent living and helps alleviate some of the burden of care for their families and caregivers.

The only pre-requisite for CHMOW service is need, individuals must be limited in their ability to shop and prepare meals for themselves. Our service can be long range or used on a short term basis: for example, during recovery from an illness or surgery. We certainly appreciated Mr. Fairorth’s comments and appeal for extra funds, extra help and more customers. We invite everyone to visit our website at for more program and contact information.

We hope to continue to provide the kind of service that Mr. Fairorth has come to expect. We do this with pride, care and love with each meal we deliver.
