A Taste of Chestnut Hill to benefit Teenagers, Inc. On Sunday, Nov. 16, food from local restaurants and food stores will be delivered to Teenagers, Inc.’s “A Taste of Chestnut Hill” – an evening featuring favorite dishes and specialty foods from these restaurants and stores. This major fundraiser is sponsored by the Jeff Silva Team of Keller Williams Real Estate and Liberty Personnel Services Inc and will be attended by Fox News news anchor Dawn Stensland and include music by local blues musician Geoff Hansplant. As in past years, “A Taste of Chestnut Hill” will take place at Springside School at Cherokee Street and West Willow Grove Avenue in Chestnut Hill from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 16. The evening also features a silent auction, balloon raffle and freez babysitting (Teenagers Inc. volunteers will be providing the babysitting which includes mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza and craft activities for children). “A Taste of Chestnut Hill” promises to be a fun and delicious community-wide event where supporters come together and feast for this organization whose service efforts touch all corners of the community. Whether participating in park clean-ups, running the Ghost Walk, helping at Pastorious Park Concerts, loading and unloading books for the Senior Center book sale, or preparing dinner for the homeless at Northwest Interfaith Hospitality Network, teens from Teenagers Inc. are vital, contributing members of our community. These wonderful kids will fill your dinner plates with all your favorite foods and some you’ve never tried before. Local newscaster and Chestnut Hill resident Dawn Stensland (FOX 29) has volunteered her time to serve as emcee for this evening. If hungry for wonderful gifts or love the excitement of a silent auction, this local celebrity will be previewing the items and drawing the winning raffle tickets for the wide variety of great prizes available. Many area merchants have contributed gift certificates and specialty items as well. If you feel lucky, if you’re looking to try some new foods, want to support a great organization or just need a night out come to the “A Taste of Chestnut Hill”. It offers everything for a great night out! To make a reservation for the event, please contact Chestnut Hill Town Hall, 8434 Germantown Ave, phone number 215-248-8810; or Marianne Dwyer, Teen Coordinator at 215-242-4976 or by email at mdwyer325@aol.com.
