Crime Report

Oct. 27. Germantown Ave. and E. Hartwell Lane. A visitor to the Hill parked his car along the Avenue at approximately 6:20 p.m., stopped to check a noise he heard before heading into a store. When he exited the store, set to return to his vehicle, it was gone. The white 1992 Volvo Wagon was valued at $10,000.

Oct. 28. 500 block of W. Willow Grove Ave. A silver 1996 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a Chestnut Hill parking lot at approximately 9 p.m. after the owner left the keys in the center console and locked the doors. The car was valued at $5,000.

Oct. 28. 200 block of E. Evergreen St. An unknown person gained entry to a residence through a rear door that was kicked in and took a large 44” television and a Dell laptop computer between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The items were valued at $5,500.

Oct. 28. Stenton Ave. and E. Willow Grove Ave. A woman was approached by a black female, described as between 16-20 years old, 5’5”, thin build, wearing a red hat and blue jeans and a black male, described as between 16-20 years old, 5’7”, thin build, wearing blue jeans and a black dickie shirt, at the entrance to an apartment building. The woman told police that she thought the two lived there so she let them in. Once inside the door, the suspects grabbed the woman’s purse, frisked her and took her wallet from her pants pocket. A third suspect stayed in the car during the attack. This was reported at midnight.

Oct. 29. 8000 block of Navajo St. A homeowner reported that an unknown person broke the glass to a rear play area, then broke a glass door leading to the living room but was unable to gain entry between noon and 3 p.m. Nothing was taken.

Oct. 29. 8300 block of Stenton Ave. A homeowner told police that she left her home at 8 a.m. and when she returned at 8:21 p.m. she heard her house alarm sounding. A rear screen door had been pulled off its track but nothing was taken.

Oct. 30. 200 block of E. Evergreen St. A homeowner returned to her house at 6:50 p.m. to find a basement door with two pry marks and the doorknob bent. Nothing was taken.

Oct. 30. 7700 block of Crittenden St. A 55-year-old man told police that an unknown person shot him on the back with a paintball gun at 10 p.m. before fleeing the scene eastbound on Mermaid Lane.
