GOLDEN YOGA 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the Lea Auditorium at the Chestnut Hill Hospial, 8835 Germantown Ave. Golden Yoga is Classical Yoga, adapted by the SKY Foundation, to accommodate those who have difficulty getting up and down from the floor. The program includes postures, breathing relaxation and meditation techniques, all performed while sitting in a chair and standing. GIVE AND TAKE Maternal Wellness Center will hold a Give and Take fundraiser at its location at 16 E. Springer Street (off of Germantown Avenue, between Hortter and Phil Ellena). Attendees can bring gently used infant and children’s clothing and toys they no longer can use, and can take items brought by other attendees. Admission is $10, with proceeds to benefit the Maternal Wellness Center and its many charitable initiatives. Have donations but don’t need anything new? They can be brought to the Center’s Carpenter Lane location (606 Carpenter Lane) prior to the Give and Take, Tuesday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. As this is a fundraiser, we ask that these “givers” also pay the $10 event admission. THIRD ANNUAL RUN FOR PEACE William Penn Charter presents the Third Annual Run for Peace 5K Run/1-Mile Walk to honor those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, especially Penn Charter graduates Kenneth Caldwell and Peter Ortale. This event provides an opportunity to participate in a charity event that will support 9/11 memorial scholarship funds at the school. SATURDAY, SEPT. 20

CLIVEDEN BREWERS BREW OUT 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., outside the carriage house at Cliveden, located on the corner of Cliveden and Morton Streets in Germantown. Learn hands-on brewing techniques while brewing your own beer on-site throughout the day.  Gates for the Brew-Out will open at 10:00am.  All-Grain brewers will begin heating their water at 10:00am for mash-in shortly thereafter.  Extract brewers are encouraged to begin brewing anytime until 2:00pm.   Brewers and brewing groups will need to supply their own propane burners and stands.  Cliveden will provide water, a drain, trash disposal, and access to the bathroom facilities.  Members of the public, non-brewers and future brewers are invited to the Brew-Out as observers and students of the art of zymurgy (brewing).  Call 215-848-1777 x230 for more information.

Environmental Art Installations The Schuylkill Center For Environmental Education site located on the corner of Port Royal Ave. and Hagy’s Mill Road in Roxborough, will feature work by Jennifer Chapman, Keiko Miyamori, Kara Rennert, and Marisha Simons, and is guest curated by Warren Angle. Paintings And Sculpture by Craig Stover at the Allens Lane Art Center, 601 West Allens Lane September 5 through October 24.
