Crime Report

The following crimes are from the week of May 11 to May 17, 2008.

May 12. Crittenden Street and Willow Grove Ave. Between May 8 and May 9, an unknown person(s) removed three stop signs and poles from intersection.

May 15. Germantown and Northwestern aves. Complainant states that an unknown person gained entry to vehicle, damaged door and stole a Visa card.

May 15. Bethlehem Pike and Germantown Ave. Complainant states that two black males asked to use his cell phone. After complainant gave them his cell phone they ran eastbound on Germantown Avenue and jumped into a red or burgundy vehicle. First male, age unknown; second male, 17 – 20 years old. Occurred at 9:30 a.m.

May 16. 8700 block Germantown Avenue. Complainant states that a black female came into store and took a 24.5 oz. bottle of Tequila and left store without paying. Occurred at 11:55 a.m.

May 17. Unit block E. Highland Ave. Complainant observed a man  inside her vehicle and tried to leave scene. Complainant saw male throw something into bushes. Complainant’s phone was missing and police recovered it from bushes. Occurred at 4:45 p.m.

May 17. 7800 block Germantown Ave. Complainant entered restaurant at approximately 6 p.m. and came out at about 6:20 p.m. to find his bicycle missing. Stolen was a red and blue BMX-style bike, small enough for a 10 year old child.

Summary — Six crimes for week: two thefts from vehicle, one retail theft and two other thefts.
