Crime Report The following crimes are from the week of May 4 to May 10, 2008. May 4. Unit block E. Bells Mill Road. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a tan wallet from a gray 2001 Toyota. Wallet contained a social security card, three credit cards, driver’s license and pictures. May 5. 8000 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that a male came into store and began putting merchandise inside his coat. Male was wearing an oxygen mask and fled in an older make vehicle with Pennsylvania tag GXP5402. Black male, 36 – 40 years old, 5’8” tall, dark complexion, balding in front of head. Offender was wearing a dirty white jacket. Occurred at 11:47 a.m. May 5. Crittenden and Mermaid Lane. Between April 28 and May 5, an unknown person stole a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser, Pennsylvania tag GWC7987. May 5. Unit block E. Gravers Lane. Complainant states she noticed her car missing at 7:30 p.m. on April 24 and thought her daughter had taken car. By the time she was able to contact her daughter at 1 a.m. on May 5, she found out that she didn’t have the vehicle. Stolen was a silver 2000 Chevy Tracker, Pennsylvania tag GJT0043. May 7. 8800 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that between 10:30 p.m. and 7:45 a.m. on May 7, an unknown person shattered the driver side window of her car and stole a pocketbook containing various personal cards and credit cards. May 9. Unit block E. Gravers Lane. Complainant states that an unknown person broke the right side window of a 2001 Subaru Legacy and stole a Garmin Navigational System. May 9. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Manager states that two employees stole money from automatic checkout machine which had change belonging to a customer. Surveillance tape shows offender #1 taking money from slot and then passing it on to offender #2. May 9. 8200 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states that an unknown person broke the driver side window of a 2007 Volkswagen and stole an Apple iPod. May 9. 8600 block Germantown Ave. Teller states that a black male approached her and demanded, “no dye pack, loose bills in 5’s and 20’s and remain calm.” Cashier gave offender money and he fled northbound on foot. No weapon or demand note was found. May 9. 8400 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that an unknown person broke the passenger side window of a 2004 Honda Accord and stole a Dell laptop computer. Occurred at 8:45 a.m. May 9. 7600 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that he noticed his car keys and car were missing after a female friend left his house. Taken was a white 1999 Mercury Sable, Pennsylvania tag PD2911W. May 10. 400 block Rex Ave. Complainant states that at 12:15 p.m., her unlocked vehicle was parked and an unknown person took her black wallet containing a driver’s license, two credit cards, an ATM card, medical insurance card and money. Her friend’s red wallet containing money, driver’s license and social security card were also taken. May 10. Springfield Ave. & Valley Green Road. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a MAC card out of his glove compartment and made substantial purchases on credit card. Occurred at about 9:51 p.m. No forced entry. Summary — Thirteen crimes for week: one robbery, three stolen vehicles, seven thefts from vehicles and two retail thefts. We’re not making it hard for the bad guys.
