Crime Report

The following crimes are from the week of April 6 to April 12, 2008.

April 7. 300 block E. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states that between 9 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., an unknown person stole a burgundy 1993 Buick, Pennsylvania tag DLK7616.

April 8. 8700 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that between 11:23 a.m. and 12 p.m., an unknown person stole a wallet from a parked vehicle. Wallet contained five credit cards.

April 10. 7800 block Crittenden Street. Complainant observed offender putting seven cans of Similac into a plastic bag and was observed leaving store without paying for items. He was apprehended at front of store exit by loss prevention officer.

April 11. 8000 block Germantown Ave. Manager states he closed the club at approximately 1:15 a.m. locking all doors. When he returned at 10 a.m., he found cash door had been pried open and money stolen.

April 12. 8800 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that she and offender who is a co-worker went out after work for drinks. After drinking, offender offered to take complainant home but took her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her without her consent. Complainant was seen at Chestnut Hill Hospital and then transported to the Special Victims Unit. Offender, black male, 36 – 40 years old, wearing black jeans and a gray shirt.

April 12. 8500 block Germantown Ave. Police responded to call of burglar alarm going off and conducted a walk-through with officers. During walk-through it was discovered that a closed door was smashed and a 2’ x 2’ security box was taken.

Summary — Six crimes for week: two burglaries, one stolen vehicle, one theft from vehicle, one retail theft and one rape.
