Local NewsCHCA board OKs budgets, bylaws The Chestnut Hill Community Association’s Board of Directors tackled a full agenda at its Thursday, March 27, meeting, managing a hefty list of action items in addition to the budgets of both the association and the Local and a number of bylaw amendments, which will go before the association’s membership for a vote. Kahn House to be sold at auction The Esherick House, a home on Sunrise Lane in Chestnut Hill designed by the noted Philadelphia architect Louis Kahn, will be offered at auction Sunday, May 18, by the Wright auction house.
GFS choir gets lesson on race in tour of the South The student choir at Germantown Friends School received a history lesson in racism last week during its concert tour in the South.
Bylaw amendments go to membership vote At the Thursday, March 27, meeting of the Chestnut Hill Community Association’s Board of Directors, five amendments to the association’s bylaws were approved and will go before the membership for vote. A simple majority is required to ratify a bylaw. A ballot will be available in the Local in the next two editions. The deadline for voting will be the association’s annual meeting on April 23.
