Crime Report

The following crimes are from the week of Jan. 13 to Jan. 19, 2008.

Jan. 13. 300 block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that an unknown person entered a 2003 Honda Accord, which was left unlocked, and stole a wallet containing a Pennsylvania driver’s license, money, Visa card, American Express card and an ATM card. Reported at 6 p.m.

Jan. 14. 300 block E. Willow Grove Ave. Complainant states that offender pointed a gun at him while he was attempting to tow vehicle because he did not have a parking permit. Police recovered weapon and arrested offender. Occurred at approximately 4 a.m.

Jan. 14. 400 block Rex Ave. Police responded to radio call and upon arrival were met by complainant who works for home owner. Police found family room door pried open and jewelry box missing. Carriage house door and window were also pried open. Occurred between 5 and 7 a.m.

Jan. 15. Unit block Bethlehem Pike. Complainant states that an unknown male entered station with a hand gun and demanded money from cash register. Complainant gave male an unknown amount of money from register and he fled eastbound on Bethlehem Pike. Occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m.

Jan. 16. 200 E. Hartwell Lane. Complainant states that while he was in school an unknown person stole his cell phone from out of his book bag. Occurred at 7 p.m.

Jan. 16. 7700 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that she believes that a male raped her in her sleep or she had a nightmare. Complainant states she stabbed male with something flimsy like a pen. Complainant states she suffers from a schizophrenic disorder.

Jan. 17. Unit block Valley Green Road. Complainant states that an unknown person broke the rear passenger side window of a 1997 Hyundai Elantra and stole a cream colored bag containing money, notebook, makeup and a health insurance card. Reported at 2:24 p.m.

Jan. 17. 700 block Wolcott Drive. Complainant states that about 10:30 a.m. she heard a loud noise at the front door. Complainant found the front door open and she screamed and heard someone running down steps outside her apartment. The front door had multiple pry marks and a broken lock.

Jan. 17. 7900 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states she was inside clothing store and went to counter to pay for items she was purchasing. Complainant used one credit card and then put that one and one other credit card back into her pocketbook. When she checked later she found two credit cards were missing. She notified both credit card companies that the cards were stolen. Occurred at about 5 p.m.

Jan. 17. 7800 block Germantown Ave. Between 12:30 and 1:15 p.m., an unknown person stole complainant’s Pa. tag DSX2927 from her 1998 Toyota Avalon.

Jan. 18. 8300 Germantown Ave. The last member to have vehicle parked it in the 8300 block of Germantown Ave. The complainant has been looking for a dark blue 2004 Toyota Scion XB for the last two weeks.

Jan. 18. 8500 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that offender took several items from inside display case and left store without paying. Male fled eastbound on Evergreen Avenue. He was stopped in the 8500 block of Ardleigh Street. Joseph Merrit, of the 1900 block of Waterloo Street was positively identified and arrested.

Summary — Twelve crimes for week: one robbery, two burglaries, one stolen vehicle, three thefts from vehicles, one retail theft, one aggravated assault, one reported rape and two thefts.
