Representatives from St. John’s Hospice, a facility that cares for the needs of homeless men in Philadelphia, recently made their annual visit to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy to talk about the school’s next outreach program. During the month of October, toiletries and personal hygiene items will be collected for residents of the hospice as well as sample sizes to be distributed to the homeless men in the area. Beth Bresnan, coordinator of volunteer services, described how St. John’s provides for the men with meals, showers and a place for them to receive mail. “Steven” spoke about the events in his life that led to his homelessness, his recovery and work at St. John’s, and the job he now reports to every day. NFA seventh grade students will visit the facility in October to serve meals to the men.  Pictured (from left) are Maria Chiatti of Blue Bell, Patrick Davis of Mt. Airy, Beth Bresnan, “Steven,” Naasir Perry of N. Wales, Will Dennis, NFA campus minister, Paul Curcillo of Flourtown, Terri Hutsell, NFA campus minister, and Erin Haney of Blue Bell.
