Crime ReportThe following crimes are from the week of August 5 to August 12, 2007 August 5, 8800 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that a 5’10” tall black male wearing a green shirt and blue jeans came into Hotel selling PSP players. Complainant decided to purchase and pulled out a bill and then the phone rang, complainant put the bill down and answered phone and when she hung up the money and male were gone. Reported at 4:56 p.m. August 5, 7700 block Crittenden Street. Complainant states she was in the passenger seat of an idling vehicle when a black male approached her and reached into car and grabbed her with one hand and with the other opened the car door and pulled her out. Offender got in the driver’s side and drove away. Vehicle was in an auto accident and offender ran away. Occurred at approximately 4 p.m. August 6, 8800 block Norwood Ave. Complainant states he saw offender sitting in his 2007 Jeep Cherokee and called police. Offender ran off before police arrived but they later found him in the rear of a Norwood property. Taken from vehicle was change, T-Mobil cell phone and a set of Jeep keys all of which offender had when he was apprehended. August 6, 8600 block Germantown Ave. Complainant states that while she was at this location an unknown person stole her wallet containing money, PA drivers license, insurance card, credit cards, bank cards and social security card. Reported at 7:48 p.m. August 9, 7700 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that while he was sleeping he was awakened by noise coming from living room and fled out the rear window. Forced entry was made by another back window. Taken was one Nokia cell phone, one iPod, one Palm Pilot, brown wallet and a green wallet containing money and driver’s license. Reported at 5:50 p.m. Summary — 5 crimes for week, one burglary, one theft from vehicle, two other thefts and one carjacking.
