Obituaries

John Collins Parry

John Collins Parry, 87, formerly of Chestnut Hill, died July 9 at Bishop Gadsen Retirement Home, Charleston, S. C.

Mr. Parry attended Germantown Academy and St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1941.

In 1941, he was commissioned in the USNR and served throughout World War II in the Pacific, earning seven battle stars for combat operations from the Aleutians to the Philippines.

After retiring from the Navy as a Commander, he held executive positions in public relations with General Electric and Allied Chemical.

Mr. Parry was the husband of the late Madeleine Tiers Parry. He is survived by sons John Collins Parry Jr. of Califon, N.J. and Charles Tiers Parry of Telluride, Colo.; daughters Sara (Sally) Parry Valin of Glenwood Springs, Colo. and Madeleine (Molly) Tiers Parry of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers Francis Fox Parry and Dr. Henry Frazer Parry, both of Philadelphia. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Mario Angelico

Mario Angelico, 84, long time resident of Chestnut Hill, died July 20 at Chestnut Hill Lodge. Mr. Angelico was born in Trento, Italy. He was the husband of the late Carolyn Margaret Milligan Angelico. He is survived by his son, Vincent Angelico, his brother Armando, and sisters Rosetta, Giovanni and Michele.

A graveside service was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.


Aeillo memorial service

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave. for Louis Francis Aiello III, son of Elaine and Lou Aiello, of Chestnut Hill. Following the service, a luncheon will be held for family and friends at Sorella Rose restaurant, 1800 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown.
