PRETTY AS A PUMPKIN:

their eighth annual Fall Faire on October 14. (If Emily makes a

WINE DINNER IN BLUE BELL: Due to
the success of their first food/wine pairing, Chef Alison Barshak
and Jonathan Newman, chairman of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control
Board (PLCB), will host a second wine dinner on Sunday, October
29, to promote the PLCB’s Chairman’s Selection program.
The event will be held at Alison at Blue Bell restaurant, where
Chef Barshak will create a 4-course menu to match wines, hand-picked
by Chairman Newman. The cost for is $69 per person plus tax, tip

HEARING-IMPAIRED ARTIST
EXHIBITS: In Celebration of Manayunk Art Center’s 50th
Anniversary, the center is currently featuring paintings, neon and
canvas assemblages, mixed-media works and collages by Germantown
resident Betty G. Miller, who is deaf. The Manayunk Art Center,
is at 419 Green Lane (rear), between Mitchell and Pechin Streets.

It’s a Halloween
Parade in Chestnut Hill
The streets of Chestnut Hill will be filled with little ghosts and
goblins, princesses and ballerinas and other assorted characters
as AbZOOlutely Chestnut Hill hosts a Halloween parade on Saturday,
Oct, 28. The parade will begin at 1:00 at O’Doodles Toy Store,
8335 Germantown Ave. and will make its way up to Bethlehem Pike
and back. Kids of all ages are invited to join the fun. Music will
play on the street and many restaurants will offer special Halloween
menus. And, as a special Halloween promotion, the shops of Chestnut
Hill will offer “Boo Bucks” to customers. Boo Bucks
are scratch and win cards that will be given to customers who make
purchases in the shops. Winning tickets will get fun little ceramic
animal mugs.
