Senior Center News

Chestnut Hill Senior Center to host book reviewer on October 17
Pat Squire, retired librarian, adventurer, and lover of books, pays a visit to the Chestnut Hill Senior Center on Oct. 17 at 1 p.m.

Squire will provide entertaining and insightful book reviews of 20 newer releases, both fiction and non-fiction. The center invites you to make a day of it. Scrabble games begin at 10 a.m. and free blood pressure screenings at 11:30 a.m. People should bring a lunch (in a brown bag or something microwavable) and the Senior Center will supply dessert and beverages. And it’s all free (though the center accepts a small donation for food and drink).

If you have any questions about this special Tuesday programming or other Senior Center classes and activities, contact the senior center office between 9 and 3 Monday through Friday. Call 215-248-0180 or e-mail the center at chseniors@juno.com.

The Chestnut Hill Community Association created the Senior Services Center in 1978, and continues to support its mission of providing classes, activities and volunteer opportunities of interest to mature adults in Chestnut Hill and its many neighboring communities.

On Oct. 28, the Senior Center will hold its annual Bazaar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill. All members and neighbors are invited to attend between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The proceeds of this Bazaar make it possible for the Senior Center’s classes and activities to continue for another year.
