Auction to benefit Black Horse Inn A 1916 map of Springfield Township, an 1880s brass student lamp and a visit to a villa in the Tuscany region of Italy will be among the items offered at a silent auction to raise funds to restore the Black Horse Inn in Flourtown. The auction is part of a soirée co-hosted by the Friends of Historic Bethlehem Pike, Springfield Township Historical Society and Springfield Township-sponsored Black Horse Inn Advisory Council that will take place on Saturday evening, Nov. 4, at Sorella Rose, 1800 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails and silent auction; dinner will be served at 8 p.m. The auction will feature nearly 60 other items, including donations from Flourtown and Chestnut Hill businesses and supporters of the Black Horse Inn restoration. Sponsors of the soirée and auction include Magarity Ford and Magarity Chevrolet, Elfant Wissahickon Realtors, Joseph Dugan, Inc., Commerce Bank and the Phillips Group Oncology Communications Co. There are several levels of donation. Individual tickets ($65 tax deductible) are $100; Sojourner tickets are $250 for two tickets ($180 tax deductible); Fellow Traveler, $500 for two tickets ($430 tax deductible); Preservation Enthusiast, $1000 for four tickets ($860 tax deductible) and Innkeeper, $2,500 per table of 10 ($2,150 tax deductible).
