Lear, Berk wed in Massachusetts
Kathrina Ann Lear, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lear of West Mt. Airy and Chatham, Mass., was married on July 15th to Matthew Douglas Berk at Chatham’s Lighthouse Beach.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Karen Turcott of Muskego, Wisc., and Dr. Richard Berk of Hartland, Wisc. Officiating at the ceremony was the Rev. John Maskery. The bride’s attendants were her sister, Mary Ellen Bettencourt, her nephew, Robbie Bettencourt, and her brother, James Lear. The best men were Hal Pohl and the groom’s stepbrother, Robert Turcott. The reception was held at the Chatham Beach and Tennis Club.
Kathrina is a graduate of Germantown Friends School, Amherst College and Columbia School of Social Work. She has taught in the Bronx for Teach for America and served as a mentor for a non-profit agency, Friends of the Children. She is presently the coordinator of skill-based programs for teenage boys at Catholic Big Sisters-Big Brothers in Manhattan.
The groom graduated from the University School in Milwaukee and Williams College. He was a propriety trader at First New York Securities before co-founding Bettencourt Green Building Supplies.
The couple reside in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Jewish Children’s Folkshul students Fraser and Mercedes Reichner, of Chestnut Hill, cut the ribbon at the dedication ceremony of Folkshul’s new location on Sundays at Springside School. Mercedes, 8, attends Springside School and Fraser, 10, attends Chestnut Hill Academy.

Klauder – Koch engagement
Philip Jr. and Lisa Klauder, of Ambler, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Jean, to Bradley Robert Koch, of Norristown, son of Barbara and Mike Mulvey of Philadelphia and Robert Koch of Norristown.
Miss Klauder is a graduate of Bucknell University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English. She is pursuing a master’s degree in English at Villanova University.
Mr. Koch is a graduate of DeSales University with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration. He also completed his master’s of business degree at Philadelphia University, where he is employed as Associate Director of Athletics.
The couple is planning their wedding for July 14, 2007.
