From our readersPaperia’s owners cite years of service The following crimes are from the week of July 30 to August 5, 2006. July 31. 200 block Benezet Street. Complainant states that an unknown person stole a blue Diamond Back mountain bike from rear of house. Reported at 5:07 p.m. July 31. 200 block Benezet Street. Complainant states that at approximately 8 p.m. on July 30 she parked her 2004 Dodge Neon and when she returned she found an unknown person had broken the rear passenger side window and had stolen a Fendi purse. Reported at 9:19 a.m. on August 1. July 31. 200 block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states he was walking home from supermarket when one of six black males punched him in the nose, causing a nose bleed. Males went through his belongings without taking anything. First male, 6’ tall, wearing a black hat and shirt. Reported at 11:12 p.m. July 31. Unit block E. Springfield Ave. Between 8:30 p.m. on July 30 and 8 p.m. on July 31, an unknown person broke the passenger side window of a silver 2001 Saturn SC2 and stole an MP3 player, Creative Labs and change. Reported at 8:30 p.m. July 31. 9400 block Meadowbrook Ave. Complainant states that an unknown person gained entry to home by climbing on porch furniture and entering through master bedroom. Taken was a tailor-made suit, five dress shirts and six pairs of cuff links. Reported at 6:30 p.m. July 31. 8200 block Germantown Ave. Service manager states that on July 29, between noon and 4 p.m., an unknown person took a computer from service department. Business was open at time theft occurred. Reported at 8:55 p.m. July 31. 7900 block Ardleigh Street. Between 10:30 p.m. on July 30 and 7:30 a.m. on July 31, complainant states that an unknown person broke the rear passenger side window of a black four door 1997 Volkswagen Jetta and stole Toshiba Gigaveat MP3 player. August 1. 100 block E. Mermaid Lane. Complainant states that first male came up to him from behind and hit him in the back of the head, told him to drop his cell phone, and second male also hit him in the head when he refused to give up his phone. Complainant yelled for help and three black males fled westbound on Mermaid Lane. Complainant’s ring finger was injured. All three males between 16 – 20 years old. First male, skinny, wearing a black t-shirt and black hat; second male, 5’6” tall, light colored shirt; third male, 5’4” tall, wearing jeans and light colored t-shirt. Reported at 9:40 p.m. August 3. 7600 block Stenton Ave. Complainant states that a large box which was under a couch in her home was missing. Box contained various deeds to property owned by complainant. Complainant states that no forced entry was found. Reported at 3:33 p.m. Summary — Nine crimes for week: two robberies, one burglary, three thefts from vehicles, one residential theft and two other thefts. Town Watch can use your help.
