On Dogs in Pastorius Park

The woman who wrote about the dog park, and possible changes, errs in her original premise.  Pastorius is not a dog park but a PARK.

I have a large dog, and am not uncomfortable around dogs.  But I never use Pastorius park for a picnic nor even a casual walk because of the off-leash dogs.
Perhaps the dog owners who use the park regularly could contribute, with city co-operation, to the erection of a dog run in the park. It could be placed beyond the pond, leaving the larger entry area for families, children, any who wish to enjoy the park.

A fenced-in dog run would keep the dogs safe from running away and will keep the other park users from being bothered by unwanted attention from dogs.
These dog owners should remember that dogs off-leash are in danger themselves, and they are in violation of city ordinance,  A dog run will give safety to those both within and without the fenced area.
