Senior News All summer long, your friends and neighbors are enjoying a nearly-full slate of activities in air-conditioned comfort at the Chestnut Hill Senior Center. From Aerobics to Yoga, Chess to Needlecrafts, Bridge to French Conversation, Art to Tai Chi, there’s something for everyone. The members and staff would like to invite the community to join the center in welcoming Lynn Trimborn, the new outreach nurse at Unitarian Universalist House. Trimborn will visit the Senior Center on Tuesday, August 1, with two medical students from Drexel University. The students are working with UU House through “Bridging the Gap,” a program that pairs first-year med students with community agencies to give the students some real-world experience in a field of their choice. At 11:30 Trimborn and her students will take your blood pressure. Lunch ( $3 per person) will be served at noon. Then, at 1:00, the medical students will present “Love the Skin You’re In.” This very timely discussion will focus on protecting oneself from harmful sun exposure and distinguishing harmful from harmless skin blemishes or spots. The Chestnut Hill Senior Center is supported by the Chestnut Hill Community Association for the benefit of all adults in the greater Chestnut Hill Community. The center is located at 7999 Crittenden Street. Hours are 9-3 Monday through Friday. For more information: 215-248-0180 or chseniors@juno.com. |
