Officers slate for chca presented
by Lea Sitton Stanley

The Nominating Committee of the Chestnut Hill Community Association has approved the slate of officers to be submitted to the new CHCA board for a vote at its organizational meeting next week.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Hiram Lodge, 8425 Germantown Ave., in Chestnut Hill. Any board member who was not nominated but who would like to serve as an officer may throw his or her hat into the ring at the meeting.

Once the election of officers is complete, outgoing President Maxine Dornemann will pass the gavel to the newly elected leader.

All but one of the board members nominated for officers’ posts are part of the Second Opinion Caucus, which won 19 of 24 seats up for grabs in the April election. Jane M. Piotrowski, who ran on the opposition, Action Alliance slate, was nominated to be vice president of the Social Division.

Stewart Graham, chairman of the Nominating Committee, said that he had asked the Second Opinion Caucus to submit a slate of officer nominees because the caucus holds a majority on the 50-member board. Officers are elected by a simple majority.

The nominees approved by the committee include Ron Recko, president; Lou Aiello, vice president-operations; Susan Pizzano, vice president-Physical Division; Jane Piotrowski, vice president-Social Division; Ned Mitinger, treasurer, and Ann Spaeth, secretary. Nominated as at-large members-Executive Committee are Janine Dwyer, Nancy Hutter, Ed Budnick, Jim Foster and Tom Fleming.
