Courtney Franklin of Chestnut Hill was recently promoted to team leader of the Blue Bell office of Keller Williams Real Estate. Prior to joining Keller Williams in 2004, Franklin was a top-producing agent with Weichert Real Estate in Blue Bell.
Jane H. Affleck of Wyndmoor is one of 10 students from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., who participated in a three-week community-based learning course in Senegal during the January break.
The students participated in the course Senegalese Culture and Society, which included cultural orientation in Dakar, followed by internships in a traditional-medicine hospital and school; an eco-tourism tortoise village; and a nursery school. While participating in the internships, students were housed with local families. Back on campus, all of the students who participated in the experience collaborated on a multi-media presentation that was open to the public.
Affleck is a 2002 graduate of the William Penn Charter School, and a senior English major at St. Lawrence. In 2004, Affleck studied in Kenya, through the University’s International and Intercultural Studies program. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and the women’s squash team.
