Andrew C. Beck Landscaping’s Personal Touch and Dependability Yield Bountiful Results

“When will the snow be gone? I don’t know. When will the grass grow? I don’t know. When will the flowers bloom? When they are ready!”

Beck, a local resident, has been providing courteous, dependable landscape services since 1982. Gardening was the family hobby. Beck’s mother, a Temple Horticulture graduate and Morris Arboretum volunteer, loved to garden. She tended multiple shrub beds, perennial flower beds, and a vegetable garden. Beck’s father loved to prune shrubs and trim Ivy. “My sister and I did all the dirty work! We weeded, hauled dirt, and cut the lawn,” said Beck.

From his love of gardening Beck took his first after school job at 14 working at Bussinger’s Greenhouses in Ft. Washington. By 16 he started a lawn service. After graduating form the University of Rochester, Andrew adorned a suit and tie for a job.

“It was not fulfilling, it was too claustrophobic … I had to get outside.” Hence began the mission to form Andrew C. Beck Landscaping.

Dependable, quality service, tailored to the customers needs is principal at Andrew C. Beck. So is a courteous staff. “So many contractors have a bad reputation for dependability and courteous staff, I knew it must be a priority for my company,” said Beck.

Beck provides both routine lawn and garden maintenance and plant installation services. Lawn cutting, weeding, mulching, perennial maintenance, organic fertilization, shrub pruning and planting are the main focus of the business. The staff is trained with some of the same techniques used at Morris Arboretum. They are courteous, attentive and conscientious.

“We work within a 10 mile radius of Chestnut Hill, so we can be flexible and respond quickly to our customer’s unexpected needs,” said Beck. Additionally, “we offer services to customers with any size property, but we ask that they want the job done right ... and with a smile!”
