Lakers alone in first place. The Lakers improved their league leading record to 8-1 with a 54-49 win over the Kings giving them just their second loss as the Friday night league winds down their regular season.

Noz Wynn scored 20 including 12 in the final period as his Laker team had to fend off a second half Kings rally. Nick Myarick also scored in double figures for the winners with 16.

The loss spoiled a 25 point game for the Kings Jessie Biddle and a 13 point game for Arthur Borgeroff.

The Kings led 25-19 at the half but the Lakers rallied in the fourth quarter behind Wynn, Myrick and Marcelo Osorio-Soto who drained a trey.

The Sixers are tied with the Kings for second place at 6-2 as they won over a shorthanded Piston team 51-31. The Sixers put four players in double digits led by Jay Pabarue with 13 points. Adrian Johnson picked up 11 while Rahmel Hamilton and Anthony Johnson each bucketed 10.

Matt Levin paced the Pistons with 11. He was followed by Jordan Dean with 10.

The Sixers led 24-19 at the half and exploded in the second half. The Pistons are in sixth place at 3-5.

The Heat are in fourth place with a .500 record as they beat the Celtics without their best player 47-42.

Without Josh Stevens, Keenan Kline notched a bakers dozen and Michael McNally added 12 including four threes as the Heat stepped up their game.
