The Senior Services Center brings
“My Medicare Matters” to area
Register today to receive free personalized information
and advice on choosing the right Medicare Prescription Plan. “My
Medicare Matters” is a program being sponsored by the National Council
on the Aging and the Access to Benefits Coalition.
If you are a Medicare recipient, Chestnut Hill Senior Center is participating
in this effort to help you sort through the options and get help with
selecting the prescription drug plan that is right for you before the
May sign-up deadline. This is an opportunity to ask questions about the
new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage one-on-one with a trained benefits
counselor. The event will be held on Monday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. the Chestnut Hill Presbyterian Church, 8855 Germantown Ave.
Space is limited, and you need to register soon by calling the Senior
Center at 215-248-0180. You will be given a 30-minute time slot and will
be asked to bring information including a list of current prescriptions,
your favorite pharmacies and your Medicare card. According to the Web
site, www.mymedicarematters.org, the new Medicare Part D coverage has
a lot to offer, and “the average person could save as much as 50
percent on prescriptions. But there’s a lot to understand before
you make your decision about enrolling.”
The Senior Center is sponsoring a trip to the “Benjamin Franklin:
In Search of a Better World” exhibit at the National Constitution
Center on April 10. Exhibit highlights include: original copies of the
Declaration of Independence and Franklin’s own copy of the Constitution
and more than 250 artifacts, including many never before displayed in
public. The trip costs $35 (members), $45 (non-members) and runs from
9:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fee includes admission to the exhibit, transportation and lunch.
Call the Senior Center today at 215-248-0180 to reserve a space for you
and a friend.
