Crime Report

The following crimes took place between Jan. 18 and Feb. 18, 2006.

Jan. 18. Unit block Laughlin Lane. Between 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 18, an unknown person smashed the rear window of a maroon 1986 Saab hatchback, but nothing was taken.

Feb. 13. 8400 block Germantown Ave. Police arrived in response to burglary alarm to find two broken windows in front of store. Owner met police at location and stated that five Brighton multi-colored women’s leather handbags were taken. Reported at 11:46 p.m.

Feb. 14. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Store managers states that offender came into store and went to rear area of store and stayed back there for a short period of time and then came to front and exited store. Complainant observed cut DVD boxes with some DVDs on floor. Upon arrival police stopped offender fitting flash description and found nine DVDs in rear pocket of her jeans. Arrested was a black female, Lakisha Wilson, 31-34 years old, residing in the 5200 block of Clarkson Street. She was wearing a blue Yankee hat, gray hoodie and jeans. Occurred at 4:30 p.m.

Feb. 15. 300 block E. Gravers Lane. Complainant states that between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., an unknown person stole one Hammer silver drill and one 90-degree drill. Items were taken from work truck. Reported at 11 p.m.

Feb. 17. 8400 block Germantown Ave. Manager states that male was pretending to be shopping and when another employee took the trash out, offender went to cabinet and stole money and then walked out of store. Manager handed over to police videotape of offender. Black male, 5’8” tall, 185 lbs., no facial hair, with close cut hair, wearing a dark button-down shirt, black pants and dark coat. Occurred at 4:30 p.m.

Feb. 18. 7700 block Crittenden Street. Police responding to burglar alarm found front door smashed in. Owner was notified by police and stated that nothing was taken. Videotape was given to police. Occurred at 12:51 a.m.

Summary — Six crimes: one damaged vehicle, three retail thefts, one burglary and one damaged door.
