A 9 a.m. start to its Homecoming Day sports program didn't do Springside a lot of good last Saturday. By the time the weather dried out and the sun glimpsed through the crowds in the afternoon, the Lions' hockey and soccer teams had already completed their contests in a chilly rain, and the planned tennis outing had been cancelled altogether.
The local booters made up an early deficit and finished in a 1-1 draw with Moorestown Friends. The tie left the Lions with a record of 4-6-1 for the season thus far, while the visiting Vixens came away 3-4-1.
