DISTINGUISHED EDUCATOR
The Dinbandu Educational Trust in Nansad, India, has selected Roxborough resident Rosaria Hosmer, an integrated language arts and social studies teacher at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy for 19 years, as the recipient of its 2005 Distinguished Educator Award. This annual award recognizes an exceptional teacher who “inspires each student to achieve his/her true potential. “ Scholarships that the trust awards in 2005 will be named in honor of Mrs. Hosmer. She has also been invited to share her “inspiration and expertise” with the students and faculty of the Nansad school which serves grades K-7. These students represent the lowest socioeconomic status formerly known as “outcasts.” Later this year, Hosmer will be spending two weeks at the school, teaching in a variety of the grades as well as acting as a resource to the school’s faculty. In addition, she will serve on the committee that chooses the 2005 Rosaria Hosmer Scholarship recipients.
