klauderKlauder – Freilich wedding

Melissa Lea Klauder, daughter of Philip and Lisa Klauder of Ambler, was married on August 27 to Marc Samuel Freilich, son of Yveline and Mark Reisner of North Wales and Richard and Janelle Freilich of Houston, Texas. The Rev. Jo Wilhelmson of Telford performed the ceremony at The Highlands in Fort Washington.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore her grandmother’s 1956 wedding gown.

Jillian Urban was the matron of honor and bridesmaids were Sarah Frazier, Maria Fernanda Castillo, Kimberly Klauder and Nicole Freilich of North Wales.

Vernon Cheatham served as the best man. The ushers were Michael Clyburn and Gary Wandall.

The groom, who holds a B.S. from Penn State, is a franchise technology analyst for MRI. The bride, who holds a masters of music from the University of Michigan, is a freelance flute performer and flute teacher.

The couple lives in Ambler.

volsDignity Housing Partners with Chestnut Hill College for Day of Community Engagement

Dignity Housing, a local non-profit organization that provides affordable housing and supportive services to the homeless, joined forces with Chestnut Hill College for their annual Day of Community Engagement on Saturday, Aug. 27.

A total of 20 incoming freshmen from Chestnut Hill College volunteered their time to paint and clean a house that will soon become home for one homeless family.

Friends schedule annual Chris McCabe Walk

The Friends of the Wissahickon’s Wildlife Committee will host the Third Annual Chris McCabe Memorial Walk on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.

The walk, which is intended to raise public awareness of the contributions this longtime member of the Wildlife Committee made to the protection of wildlife in the Wissahickon, will start at Pachella Field at Livezey Lane and Henry Avenue in Roxborough and continue north along the Yellow Trail to Valley Green Inn.

Following the walk, there will be a brief ceremony at Valley Green Inn.

Rosenblatt - Rivers wedding

Vicky and Sherman Rosenblatt of New York City, N.Y., announce the marriage of their daughter, Elise Ciarna, to Max Rivers, son of Frances and Charles Dunaief of Tamarac, Fla. The ceremony and reception was on September 4 at the bride and groom’s home in Mt. Airy.

Elise, a lawyer and acupuncturist, is the owner of Moon River Acupuncture, Philadelphia’s first acupuncture walk-in clinic in East Mt. Airy, and together with her fiancé, Max, own a mediation firm, Two Rivers Mediation. They are pioneers in the field of co-mediating couples in conflict who are committed to working on their relationship.

Elise grew up in Verona, N.J. and graduated from Clark University, Pace University School of Law and the New England School of Acupuncture. Max grew up in Levittown, and graduated from Temple University with a degree in elementary art education. In addition to practicing mediation, he is a software consultant to the medical and financial industries.
