Crime Report • Chestnut Hill
The following crimes are from the week of Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, 2005.
Aug. 29. 8400 block Germantown Ave. An unknown person entered store and took 12 silver rings and six pairs of earrings and left store without paying. Occurred at 1 p.m.
Aug. 29. 8400 block Shawnee Street. Complainant states she parked her gray 1994 Jeep Cherokee, PA tag FDW0918, at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28; at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29, she noticed her vehicle was gone.
Aug. 30. Willow Grove Ave. and Wyndmoor Road. Complainant states that she parked her black 2002 Chevy TrailBlazer at Wyndmoor train station at 7:50 a.m. When she returned at 6 p.m., she found that an unknown person had entered her vehicle and stolen a Bose stereo system and compact disk player.
Aug. 31. 8000 block Winston Road. Complainant states he was walking southbound on Winston Road when offenders walking northbound turned around and grabbed him. First offender said, “You got any money?” Complainant then pushed the male and fled. Nothing was taken and no injuries occurred. Occurred at 10:35 p.m.
Aug. 31. 8800 block Germantown Ave. Between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 30, an unknown person stole a green 1995 Dodge Caravan.
Sept. 2. Germantown & Chestnut Hill avenues. Complainant states that while at this location an unknown person picked his pocket and stole three credit cards. Occurred at 10:45 p.m.
Sept. 3. 300 W. Chestnut Hill Ave. Complainant states that between 1 and 2 p.m., an unknown person removed three credit cards from purse, which was in vehicle. No sign of forced entry.
Sept. 3. 8600 block Germantown Ave. Between 12 a.m. and 5:55 a.m., an unknown person entered through rear door of property and stole money.
Summary – Eight crimes for week: one robbery, one burglary, two stolen vehicles, two thefts from vehicles, one retail theft and one other theft.
