erPhiladelphia Mental Retardation Services will hold its Points of Transformation Awards event on Friday, March 18, from 9 a.m. until noon, at the Wyndham Philadelphia. The Honorable Estelle B. Richman, PA Secretary of Public Welfare, and Arthur C. Evans Jr., Ph.D., director of the Office of Behavioral Health and Mental Retardation Services, will present awards to direct support professionals who support people with mental retardation and enable them to live rewarding lives in the community. There is no fee, but pre-registration is preferred. For reservations call 215-685-5915.

On Tuesday July 26th at the Variety Club Camp in Worcester, Mopntgomery County, Megan Penman, 17 year-old Lafayette Hill native, and Christian White, a 15 year old Philadelphia native, splashed in the pool on one of the hottest days of the summer.

nhNicole Hager, of Roxborough, has been named “Roxborough YMCA Employee of the Year.” Hager is pictured here, left, with Roxborough YMCA executive director Sean Elliot. Hagar began work at the Y four years ago as a camp counselor, and is now the assistant camp director and childcare and school age assistant group supervisor. Hagar has implemented a popular art program at the Y and is a volunteer mentor to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

 

frFox & Roach Charities, the charitable arm of Prudential Fox & Roach, REALTORS‚ headquartered in Devon, PA, recently made a charitable contribution, through the Chestnut Hill Office, to Habitat for Humanity of Germantown to help the organization assist those less fortunate.
