Crime Report: Two auto thefts, two thefts from vehicles, and three thefts

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from May 21 to May 27, 2018.

May 21. Auto theft on the 8200 block of Stenton Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m. A man told police he stopped to get gas and left the car running with the keys in it. When he returned from paying for the gas, the vehicle was gone. Taken was 2016 White Nissan Altima with Pa. License plate no# VNR-2885. The car is valued at $20,000.

May 21. Theft from vehicle on the 9200 block of Germantown Avenue. A woman told police that between 3:50 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., an unknown person broke the front passenger door window and took the following items: one brown purse with pink flowers containing one wallet, I.D. cards, medical cards, bank cards and $30 in cash. The items are valued at $200. She said an employee informed her that an unknown male walked past her vehicle and then later returned carrying a bag.

May 21. Theft on the 8400 block of Germantown  Avenue on May 19 at approximately 5:16 p.m. A woman told police that an unknown person took her wallet from inside her messenger bag. Taken was one cloth zipped red wallet, wriststrap, driver license, ATM card, Visa card, and Univest. The items are valued at $80. The cards were used at the Acme on 7700 Crittenden St. between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

May 22. Theft on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street at approximately 12,:34 p.m. A loss prevention officer at Acme told police that he witnessed an unknown offender put shrimp and meat products into a black and white Army fatique bookbag. Then the offender passed all points of sale and exited the store. At report time, video footage of the incident could not be copied or handed over to the police. The female offender was arrested and transported to PDU. The items are valued at $119.

May 27. Auto theft on the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue at approximately 10:45 p.m. on May 26. A man told police he may have lost the key FOB to his car and when he got up this morning his vehicle wasn't there. Taken was 2017 silver Nissan Maxima with Pa. License plate KNJ-2569. The item is valued at $25,000.

May 27. Theft from vehicle on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. A woman told police that she parked her 2016 Honda on Germantown Avenue. When she returned, she noticed a gray vehicle was gone and her driverside window was broken out. Taken from the vehicle was her purse containing $40 in cash, a bank card, driver's license and one cellphone. The items are valued at $45.

May 27. Theft on the 8200 block of Stenton Avenue at approximately 9:40 a.m. The manager of a gas station told police that while he was outside checking the gas pump receipt, three unknown females and a small child came into the store. He said later on the store video camera, he saw the women take 96 cans of (12 oz) Red Bull from the refrigerator and put them in their pocketbooks and plastic bags, before walking out of the store without paying for the items. The items are valued at $345.
