The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from April 16 to April 22, 2018.
April 17. Theft on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 12:55 p.m. Manager at the CVS observed an unknown male take eight bottles of Dove body wash off the shelf and place them in his jacket. Then, he left without paying for the items valued at $71.92.
April 17. Aggravated Assault on the 8800 block of Germantown Avenue. A patient became irate and punched his nurse in the face and grabbed his throat. After the incident, he left the hospital against medical advice.
April 19. Theft from vehicle on the 9700 block of Forbidden Drive on April 18 at approximately 10 a.m. A woman told police the following items were taken from her Acura MDX car: one brown purse ($3,500), brown wallet ($1,500), sunglasses $750, 4 credit cards ($4), Costco card ($1) and $1,500 in cash. The woman told police that one of her credit card’s was used at Bloomingdale’s for a total of $500. The total value of items stolen is $7, 255.
April 19. Theft on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue. A witness told police that he noticed the thief rummaging through her vehicle. The owner of the vehicle said $3.75 in loose change was taken and one bottle of Calvin Klein cologne. The items are valued at $84.
April 19. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Northwestern Avenue at approximately 10:20 a.m. A woman told police that she went for a walk. When she returned, she noticed her passenger side window was broken and the following items were taken: one black Kate Spade wallet, credit cards, and I.D. The items are valued at $100.
Summary: Five crimes for the week: one aggravated assault, three thefts from autos and one theft
