Robert P. Fulton, 65, of Glenside, a lawyer who prosecuted the cases of lawyers who had been charged with misconduct or ethical violations, died March 31 of cancer at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health.

Mr. Fulton served for 15 years in the Philadelphia office of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s Disciplinary Board, where such cases are heard by a three-person committee and, if warranted, appealed to a board of lawyers and non-lawyers. The final step in the appeals process is a hearing before the State Supreme Court.

Before coming to the disciplinary board, he had a private law practice for 25 years on Easton Road in Glenside.

Raised in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, he was a graduate of St. Bridget’s Parish School and La Salle College High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree and a master’s degree in chemistry from Drexel University and received a law degree from Widener University.

Mr. Fulton was active in civic affairs in Glenside. He was member of the executive board of  the Glenside Fire Company, a board member of the Glenside Youth Athletic Club, and a poll watcher in Cheltenham Township.

He was a coach at the Glenside Youth Athletic Club and the Fencor AAU girls’ basketball teams. He coached the girls’ basketball team at Harcum Junior College for several years.

An avid golfer, he shot a hole-in-one at Sandy Run Country Club on April 19, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Deborah J. Camilo; daughters Theresa Fulton and Katie Bateman; his mother, Jane Fulton; a sister; and five grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on April 7 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Glenside, with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to standuptocancer.org. — WF
