Marguerite E. Ferrino, volunteer

Marguerite E. “Margie” Ferrino, 65, of Wyndmoor, a longtime community volunteer, died March 25 at Abington Hospital.

Ms. Ferrino had been a volunteer at Chestnut Hill Hospital for 40 years and provided pet care to many families in the area. She spent summers in Ocean City and volunteered with the beach patrol.

Ms. Ferrino talked to everyone; she was a gentle spirit and faithful friend to many. She loved Mickey Mouse, visits to Disney, “The Lion King,” “TV Land,” pasta, crab cakes, and cake.

She was the daughter of the late Rossi and Elizabeth Ferrino and is survived by her sister Ann J. Ferrino.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Our  Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., in Chestnut Hill, with interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church at 9 a.m.
