Crime Report: One theft and six thefts from vehicles

The following crime report is for crimes reported in Chestnut Hill from March 26 to April 1, 2018.

March 26. Theft from vehicle on the 100 block of West Bells Mills Road at approximately 10 a.m. on March 24. A woman told police that the following items were taken from her vehicle: debit cards, keys, and credit card.

March 28. Theft from vehicle on the 100 block of Bells Mills Road at approximately 10:05 a.m. A woman told police that an unknown person entered the trunk of her 2010 Toyota Corolla and took the one Wells Fargo credit card and one Wells Fargo debit card out of her black wallet. The items are valued at $45.

March 28. Theft from vehicle on Valley Green Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. A woman told police that sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. an unknown person broke the rear passenger side window to her vehicle and took the following items from the front seat: one black leather coach purse, one WI driver's license, various credit cards and $400 in cash. The items are valued at $600

March 28. Theft from vehicle on the 400 block of East Mermaid Lane at approximately 12 a.m. A woman told police that she parked her car and when she returned, she realized her rear passenger window was broken and the following items were missing: one Canon 5D Mark 4 camera 85 1.8 Lens. Also taken was a pocketbook containing her glasses. The items are valued at $3,300.

March 30. Theft on the 8000 block of Germantown Avenue at approximately 11:40 p.m. A woman told police that an unknown black male walked by her and then came back with a ski mask on and pointed a black handgun into her chest. He asked “Where's the money?” Then, he began to count down from 5. The woman gave the man her purse before he pointed the gun at her. Then, the offender snatched her phone out of her hand. The following items were taken: one iPhone 8 with gold diamonds on the case (snow globe case), purse, make-up, lotion and a brush. The items are valued at $750.

March 31. Theft from vehicle on the 500 block of Springfield Avenue at approximately 10:45 a.m. A woman told police that an unknown person broke the passenger side front window of her vehicle and took the following items: one green leather purse, credit cards, one driver's license, surgical equipment and $60 in cash. Gas was purchased on the stolen card. The items are valued at $2,000.

March 31. Theft from vehicle on the 8400 block of Germantown Avenue on March 30 at approximately 8:30 a.m. A woman told police that she left her vehicle parked at the Weaver's Way lot. She stated that she locked her vehicle before leaving. Upon returning, around 9 a.m., she said the following items were missing: one purse, registration card, insurance card and $50 in cash. The items are valued at $70.

Summary: Seven crimes for the week – six thefts from vehicle and one theft.
