The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from Sept. 4 to Sept. 10, 2017.
Sept. 4. Burglary on the 8800 block of Norwood Road. A woman woke up to find her 2006 Black Volkswagen Rabbit, PA license plate HZW-8186, missing. Thief had apparently entered house and taken keys to the vehicle. The item is valued at $5,000.
Sept. 6. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Valley Green Road. A woman told police that between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. an unknown person broke the front driver’s side window of her grey 2013 Volvo S6. Taken were various gift cards and credit cards, a Dell laptop and accessories, clothes, make-up, a purse, a wallet and other personal items. The items are valued at $3,500.
Sept. 9. Theft from vehicle on the unit block of Valley Green Road. The owner parked the vehicle in the parking lot. When she returned, she discovered that an unknown person had broken the front side window to the vehicle and removed a pink purse containing $20 in cash, 2 credit cards, and one T-Mobile cell phone. The items are valued at $150.
Sept. 10. Theft from vehicle at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Bells Mills Road. A woman told police she returned to her vehicle and discovered the passenger side window broken and the following items missing from car: Michael Kors Purse ($100), PA ID, assorted medication and $100 in cash. The items are valued at $200.
Summary: Four crimes for the week – one burglary and three thefts from vehicles.
