The Friends of the Wissahickon will be hosting a summer beer garden at the historic Valley Green Inn on Thursday, August 10 from 6 – 9 p.m.. To compliment the Yards Brewing Company drinks, the Inn will be offering a pub fare style menu. The FOW suggests that guests try to hike or bike to the event, as parking in that section of the park is limited.
FOW will also host its 11th annual Ice Cream Social on Wed., Aug. 16. The event takes place from 3-5 p.m. at Cedars House Café in Wissahickon Valley Par and features free ice cream, live music and nature activities for the whole family.
Enjoy the fun and meet FOW staff and volunteers, as well as staff from the Wissahickon Environmental Center.
Cedars House Café is located on Forbidden Drive just below Northwestern Ave.
The event will be held rain or shine. No registration needed. For more information, contact Giulia Morrone at morrone@fow.org, or visit www.fow.org.
