John K. Manly-Power

John K. Manly-Power, 58, died on July 9, 2017 due to complications with his battle of Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD), at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

John was a staple in Chestnut Hill. He attended Chestnut Hill Academy where he formed lifelong friendships. In his adult years, John owned a painting contracting business and was often seen on the 'ave' in his big work truck and aviator sunglasses. He was a lifetime member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club, an accomplished and nationally ranked squash player, and a true competitor in the Philadelphia Squash Community as a whole.

One of his favorite places was Stone Harbor, he loved the beach, the ocean, and sharing that with his wife and daughter. He worked hard, and played hard, and will be missed everyday.  He was the son of the late Donald A. Manly-Power and the late Louisa Johnson. John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kelly, daughter Whitney, and sisters Lea Kusner and Louisa Manly-Power. He also has 5 nephews and 1 niece that he loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday July 27,2017 from 4-7pm at the Philadelphia Cricket Club,415 W. Willow Grove Ave.Phila. Pa.19118. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be sent to AFTD The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, 290 King of Prussia Rd.
