Elsewhere in the Inter-Ac, Penn Charter reigns. The Quakers are 4-1 on the strength of a monster two-way season from Joey Lancellotti. The senior, who’s bookending his baseball career at PC after spending its middle portion at Archbishop Wood, is hitting over .500 with four home runs. Nearly half—11—of his 23 hits have gone for extra bases.
Off the mound, he’s given up one run in a shade over 26 innings of work. He’s walked just eight and struck out 51. Elsewhere for PC, Mike Siani is up to his usual hijinks, hitting .453, while Matt Gorman and Brendan Celucci have bolstered Lancellotti’s dominance on the mound.
Springside Chestnut Hill is holding its own in the league at 3-2, and faces a crucial week with a contest against Penn Charter Tuesday and Malvern Prep on Friday. If SCH wins both, it will control its own destiny in the league.
La Salle College High School sits at 5-2 in the Catholic League, tied with three other teams behind the 6-2 Archbishop Carroll Patriots. The Explorers have five conference tilts remaining.
Germantown Friends sits atop the Penn Division of the Friends League tied with Shipley at 6-2. Seniors Tom Primosch and Garrett Melby is hitting .472 and .420, respectively, while Primosch leads the league in extra-base hits with 11. The Tigs have two league games left—against George School on Tuesday and versus Shipley on Friday—before closing out the regular season with a handful of non-conference games.
