Captain Sekou Kinebrew, a spokesperson for the Philadelphia Police Department, said detectives are following all leads in the sexual assault reported on March 31 in Chestnut Hill.
According to the April 1 police report, a woman told police that she was approached by an unknown male asking for directions at the intersection of Germantown and Chestnut Hill avenues. The man then followed her to the 8600 block of Germantown Avenue, where he shoved her into his car and sexually assaulted her.
Kinebrew said that because it is an ongoing investigation he could not give any details about the reported sexual assault. He said the assault appeared to be an isolated incident.
He added that police have not received any reports of similar crimes in Chestnut Hill. He said Captain John Hearn, of the 14th Police District, has a strong police presence in that area. No other information was available at press time.
