The following crime report is for crimes in Chestnut Hill from Aug. 21 to Aug. 27, 2016.
Aug. 23. Theft from vehicle on the 7700 block of Crefeld Street. A man told police that between 2 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, an unknown person entered his mother's vehicle and took one dollar in loose change from the glove box. There were no signs of a forced entry.
Aug. 23. Auto theft. on the 100 block of West Springfield Avenue. A woman told police that her daughter's 1999 Toyota Camry, which is valued at $4,000, was stolen. The vehicle was locked, but the daughter's keys were left in the center console of her boyfriend's car, which was left unlocked. Also taken were house keys, women's clothes, shoes and a yoga mat.
Summary: Two crimes for the week – one auto theft and one theft from a vehicle.
