The Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment and Center on the Hill join in extending an invitation to the community to attend “Dessert with a Docent,” a spectacular visual lecture presented by Museum of Art volunteer docent Deena Gerson at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the Harris Room at Center on the Hill (in the Presbyterian Church), 8855 Germantown Ave.
Gerson will discuss the museum’s special exhibit “International Pop,” a topic many of us might be unfamiliar with.
“International Pop” inhabits a modern, fast-paced world and is packed with bold and thought-provoking imagery. As explained in the museum’s publicity materials, the late 20th and early 21st century is a vibrant period shaped by social, political and cultural change; the exhibit chronicles pop art’s emergence as an international movement, migrating from the United Kingdom and the United States to western and eastern Europe, Latin America and Japan.
Gerson will take us on a personal guided tour of “Pop” in the comfort of our own neighborhood. The PowerPoint presentation will be followed by questions and conversation, fresh fruit, decadent desserts and beverages.
This special program is open to CHCE members and the public at $8 a person. Please register with the Center for Enrichment at 215-248-0180, or the Center on the Hill at 215-247-4654 no later than May 13.
