With rain in the forecast for this upcoming Sunday, the Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival has been postponed until Sunday, May 15.
Despite the change of date, the planned activities for the festival remain unchanged. It will be held between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Germantown Avenue, between Rex and Willow Grove avenues, and will feature over 150 home and garden vendors, artists and craftsmen. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the festival, which up to 30,000 people attend each year.
Some of the items on the agenda for this year include: arts and crafts, amusement rides, a wedding garden, a Harry Potter Garden (with appearances from Harry and Dumbledore), a Maypole Dance, a photo booth, a basketball clinic and a petting zoo. Live music will be performed on two stages, by City Rhythm Orchestra, The Classic Rockers, The Dukes of Destiny and Midnight Shift. A variety of foods will also be available from a long list of Chestnut Hill restaurants.
The presenting sponsor for this year’s event is Glanzmann Subaru, and its media partner is 101.1 More FM.
