Not many people can say that J.K. Rowling “liked” one of their Twitter posts, but Night Kitchen Bakery decorator Caitlin Clausen can after her Harry Potter wedding cake went viral across social media.
Clausen created the cake back in October for Chestnut Hill's annual Harry Potter Festival. Then last week Night Kitchen Bakery, 7725 Germantown Ave., posted a photo of the cake on its Facebook page. Afterwards BuzzFeed Weddings featured it on its page, where within hours the post received over 9,000 “likes.”
As a fan of Harry Potter, Clausen must have been thunderstruck to find that Rowling eventually "liked" a Twitter posting of the cake. But Rowling isn't the only one who likes Clausen's work. Currently over 30,000 Facebook users “like” the post, which has already been shared over 53,000 times.
Additionally, according to phillymag.com, that level of interest is transferring over from online to reality. Amy Edelman, owner of Night Kitchen Bakery, said the bakery is currently getting calls from places as far as London from people interested in the cake. For Clausen, Edelman and the entire team at Night Kitchen Bakery, that must feel magical.
