The Chestnut Hill Business District announced today that it will host its second annual Dog Days of Summer event on Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Germantown and East Southampton avenues.
Dog Days of Summer in Chestnut Hill will feature pet trainers, a paw reader, caricaturist, music, a photo booth and more. Pet vendors and pet health providers will be on-site, and participating Chestnut Hill restaurants and bars will offer “Yappy Hour” specials starting at 3 p.m; pets are welcome at participating establishments with alfresco seating. In addition, a number of local animal rescues are involved, including PAWS, PhilAdoptables, Blind Dog Rescue, New Leash on Life, and Pinups for Pitbulls.
“Chestnut Hill is proud to be one of the most dog-friendly neighborhoods in the area, and we are excited to continue this great event,” said Martha B. Sharkey, executive director of the Chestnut Hill Business District. “Last year, hundreds of residents and visitors came out with their pets. Over the past year we’ve seen growing enthusiasm and anticipation for the return of Dog Days of Summer.”
Many Chestnut Hill shops are dog-friendly, and attendees should be sure to look for the “Dogs Welcome Here” signs in storefront windows.
