Genevieve A. Winter, volunteer

Genevieve A. “Nina” Winter, 84, of Chestnut Hill, a longtime community volunteer, died May 2, at Roxborough Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Winter had been a volunteer for 25 years at Our Mother of Consolation Parish School, where she worked in the office and as a teacher's assistant. For her long service, the school named its computer center for her.

She also volunteered at St. Joseph's Villa in Flourtown.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was raised on both the east and west coasts since her father was a physician in the Navy.

She is survived by a brother, Sherl J. Winter, of Chestnut Hill, and nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Our Mother of Consolation Church, 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., in Chestnut Hill, with interment in Arlington National Cemetery. – WF
