Members of the LGBT community who have adopted children will be part of a panel discussion at the National Adoption Center’s LGBT Adoption Café Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Commodore Barry Club, 6815 Emlen Ave. in West Mt. Airy.
The Café, which will run from 5:30 to 8 pm, will give those interested in adoption a chance to meet adoption social workers and gather information from many adoption agencies. In addition to adoptive parents, the panel will include an adoption professional to answer questions and explain the adoption process. The free event includes a light dinner.
There are more than 1600 children available to be adopted in the Delaware Valley. Since 1972, the Center has helped create homes for more than 23,000 children.
