The Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment begins its new series “Healthy on the Hill” this Thursday evening, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m., with Dr. T. Ramsey Thorp, founding ophthalmologist of Thorp Bailey Weber Eye Associates and clinical associate professor of ophthalmology at Penn’s medical school.
Dr. Thorp will talk about the intricate relationship in medicine that entwines patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance and pharmaceutical companies. This topic and the nature of his own one-on-one relationships with patients is the subject of Dr. Thorp’s 2005 book “The Laying On of Hands.”
“Healthy on the Hill” programs take place monthly on Thursday evenings in the Chestnut Hill Hotel Bombay Room at 8229 Germantown Ave. They are free and open to the public. Those who dine at the Chestnut Grill (also in the hotel) before or after these events will receive a 10 percent discount on the food portion of their bill.
