Nathanael B. Groton, Jr. (97) of Wyndmoor, PA, died peacefully in Chestnut Hill Hospital on July 14, 2014, from complications of pneumonia. A graduate of Germantown Academy and Harvard University, he worked in the scheduling department of United Air Lines for 43 years and served in the Army Air Corps during WW II. He and his wife, Juanita "Neatsy" Brown, raised their two daughters in Chicago, then retired to Philadelphia, where they were active at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church (Whitemarsh). While living at Springfield Residence, Nat became famous for playing the organ at Sunday Chapel services. He leaves behind him his two daughters, Anne "Nan" Groton and Sarah "Sally" Wargo (Walter), and two granddaughters, Betsy Kershner (Toby Branz) and Caroline Kershner; his wife Neatsy died in 2002. A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas' Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Music Fund at St. Thomas' Church, 610 Church Rd., Fort Washington, PA 19034 or Germantown Academy, 340 Morris Rd. Fort Washington, PA 19034.
