Crime Report: Four thefts

The following crimes are from the week of March 9 to March 15, 2014.

March 10. Unit block Sunset Avenue. Complainant arrived home at 5:30 p.m. to find door pried open and damaged. Police found two sets of footprints in snow leading to house. Housekeeper saw offenders leaving their yard sometime between 2:45 and 3 p.m., and both were carrying black and white trash bags. Neighbor also reported a silver/gray van with black tinted windows parked on street. Taken was a silver 17” laptop, a Cannon digital 35 mm. camera with various lenses, a dark brown jewelry box with various silver/copper jewelry.

March 10. Unit block Sunset Avenue. Complainant states he parked his black 2011 Lexus Rx450 and when he returned he found an unknown person had gained entry to vehicle and ransacked interior. Taken was money and an iPod.

March 10. 200 block W. Highland Avenue. Complainant states that between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., an unknown person forced open front door and ransacked living room and bedroom. Taken was a MacBook laptop and a sapphire bracelet.

March 10. 200 block W. Highland Avenue. Complainant was notified by building management of burglary to her apartment. She arrived home and confirmed that her door was pried open and several closets in different rooms had been opened. Money was taken from inside kitchen closet.

Summary – Four crimes for week: four thefts.
